India offers to host World shukokai karate meet

India has offered to host the 61st World Shukokai Karate Championship next year. According Shukokai Karate-do Union India chief Hari Prasad Pattanayak, the proposal was officially submitted at the 60th World championship, held at Amagasaki City in Japan from June 26 to 30. Two karatekas from Orissa — Gouri Mohanty and Sandeep Mohanty — represented India in the World meet and obtained licence as instructors. The duo was congratulated on its return home Wednesday.
